Owner/Operator, Derek Smith, is a Chico local and involved community member. He is the father of two young children; son Aidan (A), and daughter Emily (Em). This is where the name A & Em Garage Doors derived.

Derek has coached both children's sports team as well as taken on the duty of Den Leader for his son's Cub Scout pack.

After working in the industry for over 18 years, the time came to venture off on his own to become the most trusted name in garage doors.
