Z-Rock's 28th Annual PUMPKIN HEAD

Z-Rock's 28th Annual PUMPKIN HEAD

Saturday, October 19, 2024 (11:00 AM - 4:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

Join us for Z-Rock's 28th Annual PUMPKIN HEAD!

Enjoy live music, local beers, food, local vendors, photo booth, and Hatchet House axe throwing!

To enter the contest, you must stand on a milk crate with a pumpkin on your head! Outlast them all to WIN $1,000!

106.7 Z-Rock and PUMPKINHEAD return to the Downtown Chico City Plaza for 2024, where all the wackiness and tomfoolery will unveil for this 28th annual shindig. There’s nothing quite like Z-Rock’s PUMPKINHEAD anywhere else – it truly is Chico’s craziest, most fun Fall tradition - since 1996.

Results Radio’s 106.7 Z-Rock and PUMPKINHEAD have been through a lot together over the years. Lifelong dreams accomplished, personal goals dashed, and a lot of ridiculousness in between. What is DIFFERENT about Pumpkinhead 2024 is that it returns to the Downtown Chico City Plaza, and will now include food trucks, Sierra Nevada and Feather Falls Brewing beers, Has Beans Coffee and Tea, booths manned by local vendors; and lots of fun for everyone, including a chance to hit the bullseye at the Hatchet House mobile axe throwing rig, and a photo booth to commemorate Pumpkinhead visits.

Plus - PUMPKINHEAD 2024 attendees will enjoy live music from top vote-getting bands in the online Z-Rock Pumpkinhead Battle of the Bands competition, with winner “Not the Same Band” headlining as our absurd contest enters its final, dramatic stages, and the hardiest warriors endure and fight for the crown and the cash.

Starting at 8am - 20 brave warriors will step-up on their milk crates to compete for the crown, the bragging rights, and the $1,000 prize! Presented by Chico Cash Exchange, the contest will take place in the center of the Downtown City Plaza. They’ll all try to go the distance and be the last standing with a hollowed-out pumpkin on their head (and regret in their heart), while the Z-Rock air staff directs stunts (and offers bribes!) to encourage contestants to step-down.

Safety being equally as important as spectacle, all Pumpkinheads who retire or take an unexpected tumble will be cleared by Kiper CPR medics, before they place their pumpkins in the Holbrooks Clearance Center graveyard.

The general public is invited to watch all the ridiculousness, get a bite to eat and a beverage, and enjoy all the fun, at the Downtown City Plaza. Or – anyone can LISTEN to the Pumpkinhead competition - as Z-Rock broadcasts live from the Sutherland Landscape Broadcast Center on 106.7FM, and streams via ZRock’s Facebook and Instagram (@zrockfm) pages!
