Business & Breakfast: De-Escalation

Business & Breakfast: De-Escalation

Tuesday, March 12, 2024 (7:30 AM - 8:30 AM) (PDT)

Description

Running a business can be challenging, especially when unexpected things happen. One of the toughest challenges can be dealing with unruly customers or unwelcome visitors.

How do you handle these situations? Are there proven methods to neutralize difficult encounters before they escalate?

The answer is YES - In a word, it’s called “de-escalation”.

What is de-escalation? What is crisis management? What can I do, I have no training?

Join Team Chico and the Chico Chamber of Commerce for the latest installment of our business education series, Business & Breakfast, for an introduction to de-escalation.

Chico Police Chief Aldridge and the team from The Training Place at Butte College will begin to answer these questions and more, sharing time-tested communication skills, purposeful actions, and even how body language can change the dynamics of a volatile situation, with the goal to diffuse a situation before it escalates.

Join us for an introduction to “de-escalation” on Tuesday, March 12th from 7:30-8:30am, located at the DoubleTree Hotel in Chico.

The Business & Breakfast series takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Stay tuned for next month’s topic by subscribing to the Chico Chamber of Commerce’s virtual newsletter or finding details on the Chamber’s online event calendar.

Thank you for helping us continue to move Chico forward – See you there!
