2026 West Coast Swing Dance Class Series at monca

Local dancer and choreographer Rachel Hayes is offering exclusive West Coast Swing dance classes at monca to kick off the new year!

Learn the foundational basics of West Coast Swing, a social partner dance that allows for both dancers to improvise steps while dancing together.

By the end of the series, students who are brand new to dancing will learn the foundational basics of West Coast Swing, including turns, passes, and “pushes." If you are a seasoned dancer, you can still benefit from these classes by solidifying your technique and learning how to modify your dance with partners of varying skill levels. Variations will be added for those seeking more of a challenge.

Participants do not need to come with a dancing partner, as partnerships will be randomized and folks will dance with many different partners per class.

You may purchase tickets online here and in person at the museum. Online ticket sales is preferred. 

Dance Class ONE: Thursday, January 15, 2026, 6-8PM

Dance Class TWO: Thursday, January 22, 2026, 6-8PM

Dance Class THREE: Thursday, January 29, 2026, 6-8PM

Dance Class FOUR: Thursday, February 5, 2026, 6-8PM

Dance Class FIVE: Thursday, February 12, 2026, 6-8PM

Dance Class SIX & Social Dance: Thursday, February 19, 2026, 6-9:30PM

Social Dance ONLY: Thursday, February 19, 2026, 7-9:30PM

FULL 2026 6 Class Series Package

Dance Class FIVE & SIX are open only to folks who have attended one or more sessions in the 2025 or 2026 series. Social Dance on Thursday, February 19th is open to anyone, regardless of prior dance class attendance. Space is limited!

The final class on Thursday, February 19th will be split into two sections. The first part of the experience will consist of the final West Coast Swing instructional dance class from 6-7PM. The second part of the evening, from 7-9:30PM, will be a social dance open to anyone. If you would like to attend the entire class and social dance, tickets are $20 per person. If you are interested in just the social dance, tickets are $10 per person. 

We encourage you to bring friends or family and make a special evening out of these terrific dance sessions. People of all backgrounds are welcome to join and learn more about dance! No dance experience necessary!
