SUMMARY:Bikeway 99 Phase 5 Bridge Over 20th St Project RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY
DESCRIPTION:Chico\, CA – Please join the City of Chico in celebrating the completion of the Bikeway 99 Phase \n5 Bridge over 20th Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held on Thursday\, September 24\, \n2025 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be located where the Chico Marketplace parking lot connects \nwith the Bikeway 99 bike path near Chili’s Restaurant. All are welcome!\nThe ceremony will include key remarks by Mayor Kasey Reynolds\, City staff\, and guests. Light \nrefreshments will be provided. For those that are interested\, the ceremony will include a bike ride\nor walk over the bridge. If you will be riding your bicycle\, please be safe! Wear a helmet and \nreflective gear\, and use a bicycle light to increase visibility.\nThe bridge represents the final phase of the Bikeway 99 Corridor Project and involved the \nconstruction of a Class I bikeway overcrossing East 20th Street\, providing a safe link to \ndestinations on both sides of the street and closing a critical gap in bicycle infrastructure along \nthe east side of State Route 99. The Bikeway 99 Corridor serves as a continuous alternative \ntransportation and recreational route from Eaton Road to Skyway\, spanning nearly 7 miles.\nThe City appreciates the Community’s patience during the Project’s current construction phase. \nWe recognize that construction activities are often inconvenient\, noisy\, and cause delays in busy \nschedules. Thank you for your understanding! \nFor more information on the project\, please visit the project webpage at\nhttps://chicoca.gov/Departments/Engineering/Capital-Projects/SR-99-Corridor-Bikeway-FacilityPhase-5/ or contact the Public Works Engineering Department at (530) 879-6900.
